The Deeper learning layers increase the likelihood of a student being successful. This is accomplished by DL desiring qualities of students to become lifelong learner, to become citizens for civic engagement, and to become members of the workforce. All of these six abilities act as Deeper Learning (DL) layers that circle around the student. The categorizations of the six abilities are the three domains that compromise 21st century skills.

The focus is primarily on the first three parts but also incorporate the path for early adolescence in terms of juvenile justice and truancy.
Economic Benefits and Risks of U.S. Tribes Asserting Subsurface Pore Space rights for Carbon Sequest
This paper will explore the benefits and risks of carbon sequestration on U.S. Tribal lands. Heightened awareness of greenhouse gas emissions leading to global warming has increased research and development on green technology world wide. The U.S., in particular, has invested research and development for on-site carbon sequestration for many of the industries in addition to replacing water with carbon dioxide for the enhanced oil recovery. With large reserves of coal and other fossil fuels, many of them located on Indian reservations, federal regulations may pose several challenges to the already marginalized population. These challenges include rights to the carbon and the property rights to the resources, land and pore spaces. That in overcoming these challenges by leasing land, resources and pore space for carbon sequestration may benefit tribal lands in the end.
